Soulardarity is a community-led organization in Highland Park doing phenomenal work in the field of clean energy, including education, organizing, and installing solar-powered streetlights throughout the neighborhood.

Soulardarity was formed in response to DTE’s repossession of Highland Park’s streetlights in 2011, which left citizens in the dark, fearing for their safety and community. Since then, Soulardarity has evolved to address various concerns within the community, including the Blueprint for Energy Democracy, which outlines proposed policies for accountable government, equitable development, healthy homes, sustainable infrastructure, & Jobs & Careers.
